Of course both of our parties would like to lead alone, but in the light of the election result, this is the best outcome that could be reasonably expected.

No doubt there will be many challenges, but the key ingredients in making this work are patience, goodwill and maturity.

At the election we moved into a fairly good second place to the Tories. Can anyone tell me how our next PPC is supposed to campaign now?

Get Real?

Get Lost

I have been a loyal supporter for over 40 years - I feel let down and cheated and abused - never will I vote for this party again

As a very liberal Conservative supporter, I think this new coalition is better than any outcome that I had hoped for from the general election. My least favourite Conservative & Lib Dem policies have been binned for this parliament, and what looks like a compassionate libertarian centre-right government has taken office. I hope it lasts the full term, time will tell.

Who'd have thought Nick would be answering Prime Minister's question time during this parliament?

The negotiation team must have worked wonders: five cabinet posts, including Deputy PM.

I'm totally with you - only time will tell, and the guard most definitely remains in place, Dave, but equally, I see no other way things could have gone and for the first time in 90 years, Lib Dem manifesto policies will see the light of day in government - even if it does mean working the the tories.
